Okay...
This is only my second time on Livejournal, and I still have no idea what I'm doing. The first time I was here was when I created the account. Forgive me while I make aimless entries (such as this one) and try to figure out how all this works.
I'm sure I'll catch on eventually.

WHITE
WHITES are motivated by PEACE, seek independence

and require kindness. They resist

confrontation at all costs. (Feeling good is

more important than being good.) They are

typically quiet by nature, they process

things very deeply and objectively, and they

are by far the best listeners of all the

colors. They respect people who are kind, but

recoil from perceived hostility or verbal

battle.

WHITES need their quiet independence and refuse to

be controlled by others. WHITES want to do

things their own way, in their own time. They

ask little of others, and resent others

demanding much of them. WHITES are much

stronger than people think because they dont

reveal their feelings. WHITES are kind,

non-discriminate, patient and can be

indecisive, timid, and silently stubborn.

When you deal with a WHITE, be kind, accept

(and support) their individuality, and look

for nonverbal clues to their feelings.

What Color Are You?

I like this quizz. My fav color is red, but the white does correspond to my personnality, I think.

Dec. 28th, 2005 @ 12:58 am My laptop hard-drive died!
Current Mood: gloomygloomy
*sniffles*

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I hope their New Year is even better...

The hard-drive on my laptop is fried, so I'm sorry I haven't been online much. I can't get the family computer to let me download MSN or AIM or... and other program necessary for communication with friends. *cries*

I have to get a new hard-drive... and I'm going to have to recopy Guardians from PL... Thank God for my writing group. Luckily I have my Flowers stories all printed out... which I'll have to retype into the new hardrive. *sigh*

*snuggles all her friends*

I lost all my links too... so if I don't get e-mail notification for updates on any sites, then I no longer have the link, including Phoenix Landing.

My dear Tori, it is you who saved me tonight. I typed Phoenix Landing into my browser and up popped your name and the link to your userinfo and the phoenixlanding blog. *huggles her sis*

Dec. 14th, 2005 @ 07:07 pm tips for communities and for journals
Current Mood: accomplishedaccomplished
some of you have already figured it out, most of you have, but if you want to add the community so it shows up when you read your friends page (where you can see everyones posts on one page), go to the profile page/info page and click the little person. if your looking at the community and wondering how to join, look at the little paragraph above where the little person is. and yeah.

to post in the community, go to your regular update page and type it up and choose everything, but right by where you click update journal, theres a drop down menu and it will give you the choice of your journal and all the communities that you are a member in, choose phoenix landing or whatever community that you want and hit update.

screening options:
*public: anyone can see and they dont have to be logged in to see
*private: only you can see (dont use with communites, cause it doesnt do any good to post this way in a community)
*friends: only those that are memebers of the community can see and you have to be logged in to see it (if your posting on your journal, theres a way to make a friends filter so one to all can see your posts.

screening comments:
*none: as soon as they are posted, anybodys can be seen
*anonymous only: anyone who doesnt log in and posts just a random comment (you wont know who they are), these are screened. most have this set as a default because if you get someone who starts harrassing you, or that likes to post nasty comments, noone else has to see them and you can report them right away. this is one reason that most people have it set up to log ip addresses, so that if something does happen, you can block those ip addresses and the teams can investigate them.
*by non-friends: anyone who is not a friend you screen their comments before others can see them
*all comments: you screen all of them before they get posted (good for challenges). this is bad for a community post though, unless its something like a challenge, because others that try to respond to your comments then those are sceened comments and the poster has to go and unscreen them before others can respond and stuff, and it just gets messy, so try not to post with this option on.

other lj options:
*you can turn off all comments, just under comment settings turn them off that way.
*some people set it up so that only friends or memebers can post a comment, so if this is the case, you wont be able to post a comment unless your a friend of that person or a memeber in that community.
*a lot of people have it set up that they log ip addresses, its a good idea. doesnt do anything, except if you start getting someone that posts stuff that you are not comforitable with, then you can block them and report them alittle easier.
*people have it set up so that people who do not have a journal or open id cannot comment in your journal, theres a setting button somewhere.

if you have any other questions or anything, look under the faq, or just ask, im sure someone will be able to answer your question.

oh, and if you look at your profile page, it will show you your list of friends and who has friended you and stuff like that. so yeah. and you can search for user names and for people with the same interests and stuff. if you click on an interest (either yours or on a community or someone elses) it will show you all the communities and people that have it listed. lots of communities out there.

:-p
